New M4 West Connex

Stretching 7.5km between Parramatta and Homebush, the New M4’s eight lanes (up from the original six) make it an even faster way to bypass 22 traffic lights on Parramatta Road and reduce travel times in the west. The New M4 has also been upgraded to have smoother road surfaces. Plus, for the first time, motorists can now access the New M4 directly from Sydney Olympic Park using the new Hill Road on-ramp.

The M4 extension from Homebush to Haberfield (New M4 Tunnels) is complete. These tunnels opened July 2019. By 2023, the M4 will link to a New M5, creating a western bypass of the city for faster, safer, and more predictable trips. 

ACOM Group is now involved in post-opening defect rectification, working in and around a live motorway and under tight road- and tunnel-closure timelines.

This requires stringent control of systems and isolations to ensure work doesn’t generate additional motorway problems. ACOM’s key functions on this project include repair, replacement, or installation of the following:

New M5 West Connex

ACOM Group has been instrumental in the Commissioning and Completions phase of the NewM5 WestConnex Project with a multi-discipline blue-collar work force of over 250 employees and a staff team of 30.

Mount Piper Water Treatment Plant

ACOM has supplied Commissioning Leads to manage the completion of construction works, commission the plant, and hand it over to operations.
